미국 비교교육학 연구 동향 분석

Analysis of Research Trend in Comparative Education Review(CER) in the United States

본 연구는 새로운 세기 전환 이래로, 교육학 각 분과학문에서 진행되고 있는 연구동향 분석에 발맞춰 비교교육학 분야에서도 체계적 연구동향 분석을 통해 연구 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내 교육학에 비교적 많은 영향을 미쳐 왔던 미국 비교교육학의 연구동향을 살펴보고자 대표적인 미국 비교교육 저널인 CER(Comparative Education Review) 의 연구 동향을 분석했다. Rady(2007) 와 신현석 외 (2009)를 함고하여 재구성한 연구 분석틀(연구주제, 연구대상국가,연구방법)을 준거로 한 분석 결고 다음고 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 연구주제를 통해 본 미국의 비교교육학 연구의 경향성은 비교교육학이 태동햤던 유럽이나 북미 대륙을 비롯하여 제3세계 국가에 대한 관심을 담아 이들 국가에 대해서도 교육문제를 다루는 실용성에 기반을 두고 있었다. 둘째, 연구대상국 측면에서는 아시아 대륙을 대상으로 한 연구가 활발하게 이어져 왔음을 확인할수 있었다. 특히 신흥 시장국가라 일컫는 BrlCs국가 가은데 중국,인도를 대상으로 한 논문이 압도적 다수를 차지하고 있음을 확인할 수있었다. 셋째. 연구방법 측면에서는 비교교육의 성격상 양적 연구가 단연 압도적 비중을 차지하고 있으나, 제3세계적 시각에 대한 중요성이 강조되며 질적연구 혹은 잘적연구를 포험한 두가지이상 연구방법이 병행되는 혼합연구의 비중도 점차 늘어가는 추세였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the articles from CER from 2000 to 2015 through the organized review in order to give academic orientation for the future studies in the field of comparative rsearch. To achieve this goal, this study explored and analyzed the research trend in the United States through the CER review by reviewing 292 articles from CER. As a result, this study finds out these results: First, by the research topic, the tendency of CER dealt with the gloval education issues with practicality about the Third World countries as well as about the Notrh America and the European countries that led the first movement in the field of comparative education Second, as the interests about emerging market countries (BrlCs) such as India and China heightened, the frequency of research about those countries also increased.
