단행본에 드러난 미국 비교교육학 연구 특성 및 흐름 분석

Research characteristics and stream in the field of Comparative Education Study in the United States released in book form

본 연구는 비교교육학과 관련된 미국 단향본 분석을 통해 미국 비교교육학 연구의 특성과 그 흐름을 분석하고자한다. 아울러 이민자가 상당수를 차지하는 미국의 다문화적맥락에서 형성된 미국 비교교육학 분석을 통해 향후 한국의 비교교육학 연구에 있어 명확한 연구영역 정립 및 학문적 정체성을 구축하는데 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. Bray와 Thomas(1995).Alexiadou와 Brock(2013)등의 분류를 참고하여 재구성한 틀을 바탕으로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째. 본석 대상측면에 있어'누가, 어디에'는 미국 출판서 혹은 다국적 주요 출판사에서 발간한 단향본에 ,'무엇을'에 해당하는 부분은 학술검색엔진에서 찾은 단향본 가운데 비교교육에 적합한 단행본들을 일일이 검토하여 제시하였다. 둘쨰, 연구주제 및 영역 중심으로 보얐을 떄, 복합주제, 특징주제,비교고등교육, 국제교육, 발전교육 등 다양한 연구영역들은 다루고 있었다. 셋째, 특정학문분야의 활성화 여부를 가늠하는 중요한 척도인 대학에서의 정구과정 개설 여부에 있어 미국의 경우, 1899년에 이미 콜롬비아대학교 교육대학에 비교교육전공 과장이 최초로 설치되었다. 비교교육학 발전을 위해 우선적으로 대학원 비교교육전공 프로그램 개설이 요청되고, 이는 시대적 흐름에도 적절하고 개척할 분야가 많은 비굑교육 분야에 대해 향후 수요도 증가하리라 예상해본다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and stream of comparative education research in the United Ststes by reviewing a variety of books from the United States. In addition, for the future studies in Korea, this study is expected to provide some implications to establish the academic identity in the field of Comparative Education Research through the analysis of the trend in the U. S. that comprised many immigrants in the multicultural context. The analysis demonstrates these following conclusions: First, from the perspective of the analysis 'who and where', we selected the books from the American publishers or multinational major publishing company. Referring to the framework of Thomas and Bray, this study attempted to search the academic book-forms that collected by the keyword of the "comparative education" or the "international education" through the search engines. Second, in the terms of specific field of topic, research areas are found as follows: regional study encompassing composite and specific topics, international education, development education and higher education. Third, it is a very important measure to judge the developmental academic status whether opening the specific field of study at university. In the case of United States, in 1899, the indeoendent program of Comparative education was established in the Columbia Universitiy. This suggests the importance of establishing the academic program in universities in Korea in order for the academic development.
