Objective: This study is to analyze phonemic errors for meaningless non-sense monosyllable words before and after using hearing aids by investigating types of errors, manner and places of articulation, and relationships between preceding vowels and vowels following consonants. Method: All subjects were 10 with 17 ears with sensorineural hearing loss, whose ages ranged from 61 to 80 years. Non-sense monosyllable words that contain CV (consonant+vowel) or VC (vowel+consonant) structure were used for the tests. Forty CV structure words and twenty VC structure words were used; The CV structure words are combina tions of 10 consonants (/ㄱ/, /ㄴ/, /ㄷ/, /ㄹ/, /ㅁ/, /ㅂ/, /ㅅ/, /ㅇ/, /ㅈ/, /ㅎ/, which are frequently used for initial consonant or final consonant) and 4 short vowels. (/아/, /이/, /에/, /어/) The VC structure words are combinations of 5 consonants (/ㄱ/, /ㄴ/, /ㄹ/, /ㅁ/, /ㅇ/ ,which are frequently used for final consonant) and 4 short vowels (/아/, /이/,/에/, /어/). Results: the effect of using initial hearing aid of the senile deaf and hard of hearing whose prognosis was good has appeared limitedly within 4 weeks or earlier, and SDS is improved by starting to re-correct the initial consonants error. Conclusion: In the phoneme error, re-correction of plosive error stands out with a devel opmental pattern of articulation, and the phoneme error is influenced by the vowel contexts.
