본고에서는 헌금 설교가 왜 필요하며 어떻게 해야 할 것인지를 논의하였다. 오늘날 헌금 설교에 대한 많은 오해와 부작용이 있지만, 필자는 헌금 설교는 교회의 정체성과 본질 회복을 위해, 구별된 공동체로서 교회의 역할과 사명을 감당하기 위해 그리고 성도들의 온전한 신앙생활을 위해 절대적으로 중요하고 필요하다고 주장하였다. 또한 바른 헌금 설교를 위해 먼저 기복주의, 세속화 그리고 이교화 등의 문제들을 극복해야 한다고 하였다. 뿐만 아니라 온전한 헌금 설교를 위해 물질관의 정립, 헌금관의 정립 그리고 헌금을 드리는 과정과 자세에 대한 바른 교훈들과 지침들이 필수적으로 헌금 설교에 포함되어야 한다고 하였다. 마지막으로 효과적이고 능력 있는 헌금 설교를 위해 청중분석이 필요하고, 설교자 자신이 매체임을 기억하며, 가능하면 정 기적으로 하는 것이 바람직하고, 본문의 의미를 절대로 왜곡하지 말고 바르게 주해하여 설교하며, 재정의 투명성과 보람이 공유되는 책임감 있는 헌금 집행이 필요하다고 주장하였다.
The purpose of this article is to discuss how to preach a sermon on offering(money). Even though there have been many misunderstandings and adverse effects with regard to the sermon on offering, the writer asserts that it is preacher's duty to preach a sermon on offering. That’s why this is to establish the identity and essence of the church, explain its role and mission as separate(holy) community and guide right life of faith of church members. The writer suggests a few things for right sermon on offering. First of all, preacher should overcome shamanism, secularization and paganization. Also, the sermon should include the message of biblical viewpoint of material and right directions and attitude of offering. Finally the writer suggests a few things for effective and powerful preaching on offering: audience analysis, the importance of preacher as medium, regular practice of sermon on offering, undistorted interpretation of the text, transparency in the finances and the fruitful and responsible use of offering.
