Objective: This study aims to examine the effects of the difference between Mental Practice training interventions on upper limb function in stroke patients. Method: Eighteen patients with stroke were randomly assigned to using a video mental practice group and using a picture mental practice group and then training was performed three times per week, 40 minutes per each time, for eight weeks. Upper limb motor function was measured with Fugl-Meyer assessment of upper extremity, and upper limb sensory function was measured with light touch, proprioception, two point discrimination, stereognosis, weight discrimination. Results: There was significant difference in upper limb motor function except for light touch in the experimental group and the control group was significant difference in upper limb sensory function except for light touch and proprioception. There was significant difference in Fugl-Meyer assessment of upper extremity and two point discrimination in both groups after the intervention but there was significant difference in comparison between the groups. Conclusion: Mental practice method using the video to the results of this study, stroke was found to be an effective training method for improving upper extremity motor function and sensory function.
