세르비아/크로아티아/보스니아/몬테네그로어의 동사에 나타나는 시제와 상의 구조

Tenses and Structure of Aspects which appear in the Verbs of Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian/Montenegrin

본 논문은 발화의 두 가지 대립되는 구조로 이미 잘 알려진 대화와 담화(벤 베니스트가 주장한 대화, 그리고 바인리히가 주장한 담화)의 개념에 기본을 두 고 있다. 과연 속담이 위 두 가지 분류체계 중 어디에 속하는지 정의하기 위해 다른 언어보다 좀 더 다양한 형태로 활용된 동사들이 많이 나타나는 세/크/보/ 몬어의 속담을 연구하였다. 본 논문의 말뭉치로는 부크 카라쥐치의 세르비아 민속 속담을 활용하였다. 속담에 나타나는 일부 동사들은 경우에 따라 대화(반복 을 나타내는 미완료상/완료상 현재형, 하나의 동사만을 포함하는 완료상 과거 형, 미래형, 기원문, 명령형, 가정법) 혹은 담화(예정상의 의미를 지니는 완료상 현재형, 불구 과거형, 시간상 연속적으로 나타나는 행위가 포함된 과거형이나 부정 과거형)에 포함되며 이 둘 어디에도 포함되지 않는 특정한 기능(격언의 의 미를 지니는 부정 과거형이나 미완료 과거형)을 보이는 동사를 지닌 속담들이 있음이 확인되었다. 따라서 세/크/보/몬어에서 나타나는 활용된 동사의 형태의 기능에 따라 분류하는 기준에 따라 기존에 존재하던 발화의 구조 분류체계에 새로운 분류단위가 도입되어야 할 필요가 있다.

The paper is based on the well-known opposition between two systems of enunciation – speech and narration (story / speech in Benveniste, narration / commentary in Weinrich). In order to determine which system proverbs belong to, conjugated verbal forms (much more various in BCMS proverbs than in other languages such as French or English) are examined. The corpus is the collection of proverbs by Vuk Karadžić, first published in Cetinje (Montenegro) in 1836. The paper shows that some verbal forms function in proverbs in the same way as in speech enunciation (imperfective and perfective present in repetitions, perfective perfect with only one verb, future, optative, imperative, conditional), others as in narration enunciation (prospective perfective present, truncated perfect, perfective perfect and aorist in chronological successions of actions), while some others are used in a specific way, which can be found only in proverbs (the so-called gnomic aorist and imperfect). Therefore the criterion “how conjugated verbal forms function” allows to distinguish a specific enunciation system for proverbs in the BCMS language. 7)
