The Influence of Foot Reflexology Massage Using Aroma Oil on Sleep and Pain in Cancer Patients

암은 진단 시부터 불치병으로 인식되는 질환으로써 죽음에 대한 두려움을 갖게하며 신체적, 심리적, 사회적, 경제적, 영적, 안녕 상태를 저하시켜 삶 전체에 지대한 영향을 미치는 대표적인 질환으로 암으로 인한 사망률(인구 10만명당)은 144.4명으로 한국인 사망순위 1위를 차지하며 계속 증가추세에 있다(보건통계청, 2010) 본 연구의 목적은 아로마 오일을 이용한 발반사 마사지가 다양한 암환자의 수면과 통증에 미치는 효과를 규명하기 위해 대체의학의 한 분야인 아로마요법과 발 반사 마사지를 요양중이거나 요양을 필요로 하는 암환자의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 케어에 접목하기 위한 것임을 밝힌다.

As a disease, cancer is incurable when being diagnosed with that makes people have a fear of death. It is impacts a person's entire life by lowering her physical, psychological, social, economical, and spiritual conditions. The cancer incidence is continually increasing and its cancer death is 144.4 per 100,000 people, according to the National Center for Health Statistics(2010). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of foot reflexology massage using aroma therapy, a part of alternative medicine. It aims to determine whether the use of aroma oils improve the sleep and pain condition among patients who are either currently receiving a foot reflexology massage or in need of one
