은유적 사고를 통한 자기표현 미술수업 사례 연구

A Case Study of Art Class for Self-Expression through the Metaphoric Thinking

본 연구는 인간의 은유적 사고를 통한 표현의 중요성을 인식하여 미술수업에서 자기 표현력을 높이는 수업 방안을 연구하는데 목적을 두었다. 따라서 자기표현 미술수업 지도에 있어 은유적 표현기법을 제시하고 실제 수업에 적용함으로써 그 교육적 의의를 밝혀보고자 한다. 은유는 미술작품을 창작하는 실제 활동에서 발생하며 이때에 창작된 미술작품을 해석할 때에도 필요한 인간의 중요한 인지적 기능이다. 또한 미술에서의 은유 사용은 상상력을 통한 미적표현 능력과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 본고에서는 먼저 은유의 이론과 회화 속에 나타난 은유적 표현을 고찰하고 이를 실제 회화 표현수업에 적용하였다. 학생들의 작품을 대체, 통합, 병치, 규모화, 조작의 다섯 가지 은유유형으로 분류하여 분석하였다. 학생들은 추상적인 개념을 자신의 경험과 연결하고 비유함으로써 은유적 자기표현을 하였다. 또한 여러 관념을 혼합하여 생각하기도 하고, 기존의 사고를 뛰어넘는 새로운 의미를 도출하기도 하였다. 이러한 과정에서 은유적 사고는 학생들의 상상력을 발휘시켜 창의적인 발상과 자기표현 능력을 극대화하는데 기여하고 있었다. 자기표현 미술수업을 통해 은유가 의미의 중요성과 시각적 이미지를 드러내는 역동적인 역할을 하고 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

This study intends to study the teaching method for improving self-expression power at an art class, recognizing the importance of expressions by metaphoric thought of human. Therefore, this paper tries to clarify the educational meaning by showing metaphoric expression skills in teaching art class for self-expression, applying them to practical classes. Metaphor rises in the real activities where we create works of art and is necessarily needed as a important human cognitive functions when we interpret the works of art. Using metaphor in fine arts is also closely related with the ability of aesthetic expression by imagination. This paper, at first, researched metaphor theories and the metaphoric expressions in paintings and then applied them to the practical classes for painting expression. And students’ works are sorted into replacement, superimposition, juxtaposition, sizealization and manipulation and are analyzed. Students connected abstract concepts with their experiences and then made metaphoric self-expressions. They not only thought many kinds of concepts with mixing, but also extracted the new meaning beyond the existing thoughts. On this progress, metaphoric thinking makes students realize their imagination and helps them maximize their creative thinking and the ability of self-expression. Through the art class for self-expression, researcher came to confirm the fact that metaphor has taken on the dynamic role in disclosing the importance of meaning and visual images.
