their language. However overseas branches of domestic companies are changing from direct export to localization in foreign countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether foreign language ability is still a significant success factor in enterprises. Study results show that foreign language ability is still an important factor in the initial negotiation phase but during the actual contract negotiation stage, negotiation skill, knowledge of goods and understanding local customs transactions are more important than foreign language ability. This means that mutual trust and understanding of local trading practices are more important factors in foreign transactions. Therefore, implications point towards setting up improvements in the variable capabilities needed in growing the local experts rather than using the time to get high scores in foreign language tests. Hopefully, this study can help trade expert training needed to lead the global market beyond the $ 1 trillion trade era.
