공직선거 후보자의 청렴성은 유권자들의선택(선거결과)에 영향을 미치는가?: 19대 총선 사례를 중심으로

An Analysis of the Congressional Candidates′ Integrity Impact on the Voters′ Choice: Case of the 19th General Election

본 논문은 공직선거 후보자의 도덕성이 유권자의 선택에 어떤 영향을 주었는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 설정하였다. 이를 알아보기 위해서 후보자의 소속정당, 범죄 경력여부, 세금체납여부가 19대 총선 출마자의 당락에 영향을 미쳤는지에 대해서 로짓 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 유권자들은 후보의 개인적 능력인 인물요인보다 정당요인에 의하여 후보를 선택한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 후보자들의 범죄경력여부나 세금체납여부는 유권자들의 후보 선택에 큰 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.

This study aims to find out the congressional candidates' integrity impact on the voters' choice. To do so, the logistic regression was used. The independent variables such as candidates' party, tax delinquency and criminal history are used. The dependent variable is the result of the election. The result of analysis, the voters do not choose the factor of candidates' ability and personality but the factor of party. Also, the voters did not seriously consider the tax delinquency and criminal history of congressional candidates in voter decision.
