Extending Joh (2015), this paper claims that the so-called Taub’s generalization observed with respect to Korean tul can be explained on the basis of group individuals. In terms of Link (1983, 1984), there can be two kinds of collectivity: one generated via applying to a sum and the other generated via applying to a group. Supporting him, this paper claims that collective state and achievement predicates require a group as the subject while collective activity and accomplishment predicates do not impose such a requirement. The fundamental difficulty in analysing the so-called taub’s generalization observed with Korean tul is that it reveals variations in semantic judgments unlike English all. Yet, the advantage of this paper is that it can address the interpretational variations.
