Prior idea generation studies point out cognition to be a major component to increase group productivity. However, numerous studies suggest a much less significant influence of cognitive stimulation on the idea generation performance. This study pay attention on unstructured or unorganized idea presentation on the public screen, which may cause less significant effect of cognitive stimulation. A chunking mechanism - organizes the stream of ideas presented to participants into smaller packets of ideas - in the form of a multiple dialogue is introduced to balance between homogeneity and heterogeneity of ideas within and between categories based on three different criteria: stimulus diversity, stimulus cardinality, and stimulus temporal distance. The results show that a threaded dialogue approach to be more effective than the traditional single dialogue approach in enhancing the performance of idea generation.
