A Study on Political Reform in Korea

This paper discusses the issues of political reform by utilizing the concept of “core institutions” in a relatively autonomous political society. Even if Korean political reform has been continuous despite of a relatively short history of democratization, it is susceptible to severe critics. This study analyzes current problems and suggests new alternatives and directions of political reform in four levels, electoral system, party system, campaign financing system, and law-making process. This paper may contribute to the related study since it deals with political reform issues with only one perspective comprehensively.
