이 글은 다문화 가정에서 필요한 언어 교육 과점을 논한다. 대부분의 다문화 가정은 두 개의 언어가 존재하는 상황에 있다. 그것은 부모 중 한 쪽이 외국인기 때문이다. 지금까지 다문화 가정의 언어는 동화의 관점으로 바라보아, 한국어 이외의 언어는 도태의 관점으로 사라져야 할 것으로 생각되어왔다. 하지만 국제 사회에 대한 이해, 국제적 감각이 필요한 현 시점과 미래 시점에서 이러한 동화 관점의 언어 교육은 더 이상 실효성을 잃는다. 곧 동화 관점이 아니라 이 언어를 자신뿐만 아니라 자녀들에게 전수하여, 상호 문화와 언어를 역동적으로 비교하여 우리 사회에서 능동적인 적응을 가질 수 있도록 해야 한다. 그러기 위해서 다문화 가정의 언어 교육은 이중 언어 교육이 되어야 하며, 여기에는 문화 교육도 포함된다. 더불어 이중 언어와 이중 문화에 대하여 수동적 자세가 아니라 이를 동료들 또는 자녀들에게 적극적으로 비교하여 표현할 수 있는 관점으로 언어 교육이 지향되어야 할 것이다.

The education for Multi-cultural family should be to improve bi-lingual ability and acquire international culture aspect. The immigrant's language should be not regard to inferiority. that viewpoint makes the immigrant erase intentionally their language and force their children only to learn Korean. the Ability to have good command of mother language and Korean is strong point with the respect of managing their life in future that expect to become international society. Therefore, the aim of the bi-lingual education for Multi-cultural family are below. A. The acquisition and understanding of both mother language and Korean, even though emphasizing the latter. B. The meaning of the bi-lingual education for Multi-cultural family is also, included in the language culture. C. bi-lingual education is mutual understanding between mother culture and Korean one, and the bi-lingualer can tell them to their colleague.
