A Study on the Education of Korean Dependent Noun for Chinese Learners

The purpose of this study is to recognize the need to conduct a systematic training and education of Korean 'dependent noun' and find out more effective teaching methods for Chinese learners. Since Chinese do not have their own concept of dependent noun in their own native language, they tend to ignore dependent nouns as essential parts of sentence. The reason for this is that Chinese language and Korean language do not have similar expressions. when it comes to dependent noun, Therefore, most Chinese learners who are not familiar with the usage of dependent noun have the tendency to avoid rather than using it. Also, the study examined the situation of dependent noun exam questions of TOPIK and education methods about dependent nouns in Korean textbooks to look in to Korean learners’ education situation about dependent nouns. Finally, in order for Chinese learners to acquire proficiency and maximize learning, the paper suggests a design on Teacher systematic education and an actual teaching plan on how to teach effectively Korean dependent nouns.
