스페인어권 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 초성 자음 학습 순서에 대한 연구

A study on the order of learning initial consonants for Spanish learners of Korean as foreign language

이 글은 스페인어권의 음소 체계와 한국어의 음소 체계를 비교 및 대조를 하여, 추출된 발음의 난이도 위계를 기준으로 스페인어권 학습자를 위한 한국어 초성 자음의 학습 순서를 재배열을 시도한다. 이를 위해 Prator(1972)의 난이도 위계(hierarchy of difficulty)를 음소 차원으로 조정하여 “전이(transfer), 융합(coalescence), 과소구별(under-differentiation), 재해석(reinterpretation), 과잉구별(over-differentiation), 분리(split)로 세분화하여 이를 스페인어와 국어의 자음 체계에 적용해 본다. 이러한 난이도를 바탕으로 하여 살펴본 결과 ‘전이 단계’에는 ‘ㅃ, ㄸ, ㄲ, ㅊ, ㅇ, ㅁ’이 있으며, ‘융합 단계’에는 ‘ㄴ’이 있음을 말한다. 또한 과소 구별에는 ‘f, z, b, d, g, j’에 있고 ‘f, z’ 대응되는 한국어 음소가 없는 반면 ‘b, d, g, j’는 한국어 음소 /ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ, ㅎ/과 음성적으로 대응되어 교육이 필요하다는 점을 밝힌다. 또한 재해석에는 ‘ㄹ’이 과잉 구별에는 ‘ㅍ, ㅌ, ㅋ, ㅈ, ㅊ’이 있으며, 분리에는 스페인어의 ‘s’가 ‘ㅅ’과 ‘ㅆ’으로 분화되는 현상이 이에 속하는데, 음소, 음성, 그리고 글자의 분포가 상이하여 난이도가 높은 단계임을 논증한다. 이러한 논의를 토대로 스페인어권 학습자들의 한국어 음소 학습의 순서를 쉬운 음소에서부터 어려운 음소로 재배열을 하여 보면 “ㅃ, ㄸ, ㄲ, ㅊ, ㅇ, ㅁ → ㄴ → ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ, ㅎ → ㄹ → ㅍ, ㅌ, ㅋ, ㅈ, ㅊ → ㅅ, ㅆ”와 같이 도출된다.

This study aims at, firstly, contrasting between Spanish phonemes' system and Korean one, the second, establishing hierarchy of pronunciation, the third, making an order of initial consonants of Korean for Spanish students of KFL. This paper follows hierarchy of difficulty of Prator(1972), but recoordinates it to phonemes' dimension. This paper suggests that level hierarchy of sound divides into 6, that is, Transfer(level0), Coalescence(level1), Under-differentiation(level2), Reinterpretation(level3),Over-differentiation(level4), Split(level5). On the basis of the levels(1-6), This paper clarifies that transfer phonemes are ‘ㅃ, ㄸ, ㄲ, ㅊ, ㅇ, ㅁ’, coalescence is ‘ㄴ’, and under-differentiation are both ‘f, z’ which are not found in Korean phoneme, and ‘b, d, g, j’ corresponding ‘ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ, ㅎ’. Reinterpretation, further, is ‘ㄹ’, Over-differentiation are ‘ㅍ, ㅌ, ㅋ, ㅈ, ㅊ’, and Split is ‘ㅅ’ and ‘ㅆ’ divided from ‘s’ of Spanish. With this result, This paper establishes the learning order of Korean consonants as “ㅃ, ㄸ, ㄲ, ㅊ, ㅇ, ㅁ → ㄴ → ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ, ㅎ → ㄹ → ㅍ, ㅌ, ㅋ, ㅈ, ㅊ → ㅅ, ㅆ”.
