Korean Oriental Medicine Industry Development through Vitalisation of Daegu Yangnyeongsi(Korean Herb Mart) Festival

The rnain purpose of this study is to create the opportunity to develop SClenc methcx:ls of K1 orienta1 micine and bio-industry of Korean orienta1 micine by inducng the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Festival, and wruch also has intemational competitiveness as an industrial festival and tourist atσaction. This study so proposes the developrr‘ent of a variety of programs such as establis비ng an orienta1 rricine theme park, various festival themes hosting a tour related to health care by orienta1 m어icine， a marathon, etc.. In addition, to construct the infra-structure of the festival, focx:l made of orienta1 medicine, a bio-valley of orienta1 rricine， and an orienta1 prcx:luction complex. lt is advised that the boundary of the festival should be widem쳐 from downtown where Yangnyeongsi is located to the whole city of Daegu, and the festival should contain both tradition and the cutting-ge technology and information of our modem society. study illustrates that the festival will be J110re successful than ever by incolOTating all the points listed above. More domestic and foreign tourists will paπicipate in a festival that indusal festiv and tourism ilia. Also, the festival will be a role mel for the loc economy, in addition to encouraging the larger social arena to explore a new fonn of industry.
