하동군 조명시설물과 휴게시설물 디자인 개발에 관한 연구

A Study on Developing Design of Lighting System and Resting Facility in Hadong

독일의 생태도시인 프라이부르크(Freiburg)과 스페인의 빌바오(Bilbao)와 같이 세계 여러 도시들은 도시 아이덴티티를 통해 문화와 관광요소를 바탕으로 도시 브랜드 가치와 공공 사회의 질 향상에 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 우리나라 여러 도시들도 문화관광도시로의 도약을 위해 도시디자인과 공공디자인을 통해 역사문화적 기능을 회복하고, 도시에 이야기를 담아 문화적 가치를 공유하며, 도시를 새롭게 변모시킬방안으로 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이처럼 국내 도시개발 기획과 공공디자인 사업에서도 지역 정체성 수립 및 홍보방안이 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다.1) 하동군은 지리산의 위용과 넓은 남해바다와 섬진강의 유유함이 조화를 이루는 천혜의 자연환경의 아름답고 유서 깊은 고장으로, 남해안을 대표하는 문화 관광 도시로의 도약과 지역민의 삶의 질 향상을 위해서 하동만의 문화적 특색과 지리적 입지를 고려한 공공시설물 환경디자인 개발을 재정비하게 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 공공시설물의 정의와 구성요소 및 공공시설물 분류에 대해 문헌연구를 진행하고, 하동군의 디자인 시설물 개발 대상지의 지리적 현황에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 하동군 공공시설물 중 본 연구의 대상으로 제한한 조명시설(가로등, 보안등)과 휴게시설(벤치, 파고라, 식수대)의 현황에 대해 살펴보고 문제점을 분석하였으며 연구결과로서 디자인 컨셉 설정에 따른 각 시설물의 디자인 가이드라인과 디자인 안을 제안하였다. 연구결과에서 분석 결과를 바탕으로 연구결과에서는 장식적인 디자인과 화려한 색채에 치중하고 일관성이 없는 다양한 형태로 기능성뿐만 아니라 주변과의 조화를 이루지 못하는 조명시설과 과도한 색채와 표지판의 사용으로 시인성이 낮고 형태적으로 부조화를 이루는 곡선의 사용이 많은 휴게시설을 ‘전통과 현대의 조화로운 어울림’이라는 컨셉 아래 하동의 정체성을 현대적 감각과 기능으로 접목시킨 디자인을 제안하였다.

Various cities in the world purport to improve the quality of public society through city identity by using culture and tourism. Freiburg, eco-city, Germany and Bilbao, Spain are the best examples of cultural tourism cities which are focused on urban design and public design. Several cities in Korea are trying to revive the historic cultural features with public design and they have put the story on the cultural values of the city. As such various researches are recently performed in order to change city. Hadong has beautiful and historic places of the natural environment in harmony, as like Jiri mountain, Southern Ocean and Seomjin river and it was to reorganize development of the public design facilities considering the cultural traits and geographic location, in order to improve the quality of life of local residents and jump into the cultural tourism city, representing the South Coast. This study explored literature review on the definition of public facilities, public facilities’ components and analyzed the geographical situation of target area of Hadong for public design facilities. And also current status of street furniture (bus shelters, bollard, fences, trash) and guidance facility (Integrated Information sign), subject of this study, were examined and analyzed. This study suggests design of public design facilities and design guidelines for each facility according to the design concept. This study proposes new design on the concept of ‘harmony of traditional and modern’ to replace the existing street furniture which has lack of consistency in form and color, and high saturation and brightness and guidance facility which has the low legibility, and uneasy use of information.
