Using the framework of speaking assessment, the researcher explored peer-to-peer interaction features in the media-conference English debate. Fifty-one pre-service teachers participated in the research as a subject. The current study had two research questions: 1) What do FACETS analyses reveal regarding interactional features in which non-linguistic aspects such as gesture and eye contact are combined with linguistic ones such as responsive remarks to the opponent? and 2) How do student raters perceive the interactional features as assessment criteria? For the research question 1, the researcher found out that interactional features were infitting areas and that those features were very harsh to the students. For the research question 2, the researcher conducted survey and interview analyses. As a result, students stated that the interactional feature was a crucial component in the English debate assessment.
