백워드 설계모형을 적용한 감상 단원 개발 - 2015 개정 미술과 교육과정의 초등학교 3,4학년군 ‘작품과 미술가’ 내용요소를 중심으로 -

A study on an application of Backward Design for the development of art appreciation unit with key concepts of ‘artwork and artist’focused on 3rd-4th grade students

본 연구는 2015개정 미술과 교육과정의 감상 영역의 3,4학년 내용요소인 ‘작품과 미술가’를 지도하기 위해 백워드 설계모형에 따라 단원을 설계하여 현장에 적용하기 위한 방안을 논의한다. 백워드 설계는 기존의 교육과정 설계 순서와는 달리 목표설정 후 평가계획이 먼저 나오며, 역량 기반 교육과정의 방향과 부합한다. 본 연구는 ‘작품과 미술가’ 개념에 대한 국외와 국내의 교육과정 접근 현황을 분석하여 영속적 이해와 빅 아이디어를 도출하고, 백워드 설계모형에 따라 초등 3학년 미술과의 ‘작품과 미술가’ 단원을 개발하였다. 백워드 교육과정의 적용을 위해서는 첫째, 교사 수준에서 단원을 설계할 때 활용할 수 있는 영속적 이해나 핵심 질문 등을 제공하는 기초적 지원 체계가 필요하다. 둘째, 감상영역의 ‘작품과 미술가’를 다른 영역과 결합하여 재구성하여 단원 설계가 가능하다. 셋째, 필수적으로 학습해야 하는 지식과 기능이 미술과에서 연구되어야 하고 ,학년별로 다룰 수 있는 작품과 미술가의 선정 기준 등 교사를 위한 실천 방안이 지원되어야 한다.

The object of this research is to apply Wiggins and McTighe’s Backward Design to 2015 Renewed National Art Curriculum for developing an unit for 3rd-4th grade students with key concept of ‘artwork and artist’. The researcher examined the big ideas and enduring understanding of the concept in 2015 Renewed National Art Curriculum and other counties’ to compare the approaches to the key concept. This study presented the unit by the achievement standards in 2015 renewed national art curriculum, enduring understanding, essential questions, and the six facets of understanding of artwork and artist. Assessment plans are detailed with specific approaches to understanding of artwork and artist. Then, the researchers developed authentic tasks by integrating specific knowledge and skills on the unit. Firstly, as a result, teachers need instructional resources to provide essential questions and enduring understandings for Backward design. Secondly, the concept of ‘artworks and artists’ could be integrated to the content area of expression and appreciation. Lastly, it should be supported or set up a specific guidelines for selecting artworks and artists in art classrooms. Therefore, Backward design could be useful for teachers with more examples and instructional resources of future research on developing curriculum nit, detailed information about the level of performance for teachers with knowledge and skills that all learners need to know at the level of students.
