창의 융합적 역량 향상을 위한 디자인 사고과정 수업에 대한 연구

A Study of Design thinking process for Creative and convergence competency

본 연구는 디자인 사고 과정의 적용을 통해 창의·융합 역량을 강화하기 위한 수업모형에 대한 연구이다. 창의·융합 역량은 2015 개정 교육과정에서 미술과의 핵심 역량으로 강조되고 있다. 디자인 사고과정은 다양한 분야를 가로질러 통합한다는 점에서 융합적 사고 능력을 기르는데 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 디자인 사고과정에서 문제를 해결하기 위한 창조적인 아이디어의 발상은 창의·융합 역량을 키우는 데에 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위한 방안으로 디자인 사고과정을 고찰하였다. 그 중 대표적인 디자인 사고과정 수업 모델을 살펴보고 이 모델에 기반 하여 초등학교 학생을 대상으로 한 수업을 설계하고 실행하였다. 디자인 사고 과정을 적용한 수업을 통해 다음과 같은 몇 가지 결론과 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 학생들은 디자인 사고과정을 거치면서 창의적 사고가 신장된 모습을 보여주었다. 둘째, 학생들은 디자인 사고과정을 통해 융합적인 사고를 활성화 시킬 수 있었다. 셋째, 학생들은 디자인 사고과정을 거치면서 ‘디자인이란 무엇인가’에 대한 메타적 성찰을 거쳤고, 유의미한 사고 변화를 얻었다. 디자인 사고 과정에 기반한 다양한 수업설계연구 및 적용은 앞으로 창의적 사고를 통해 융합적으로 문제해결을 하는 21세기 역량 강화에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다.

This study investigates learning models which develop creative and convergence competency through the application of the design thinking process. Creative and convergence competency was emphasized by the 2015 Revision of the Korean National Curriculum as the core competency of Korea’s art curriculum. Convergence competency can be developed by the design thinking process(iDESIGN), as the process involves finding a solution by combining a variety of possible answers. Design thinking process(iDESIGN) can also contribute to the development of creative competency through the formation of creative and original solutions to problems. This study examined the DK-12 education program in the United States, which adopts design thinking, and learning models. The study found the following conclusions and implications through the design and execution of this lesson, which implemented design thinking. Firstly, students developed problem solving skills through the design thinking process. Secondly, it was shown that through this process, students also developed creative and convergence competency. Thirdly, students created a esthetic value through the internalization of virtues and values. This study suggests that studies on, and applications of, learning models based on the design thinking process will assist future cultivations of the ability to solve problems through convergent and creative thought processes.
