가정의 문해환경이 유아의 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this research was to explore the influence of home literacy environment on children’s prosocial behavior. The subjects of this study were 252 children between the age of 4 and 5 who went to kindergarten in the capital area. Mothers of the children answered the questionnaire which measured home literacy environment and the prosocial behavior of their children. The results of this study were as follows: First, literacy materials, literacy activity, and the reading attitudes of parents showed significant positive relations to children’s prosocial behavior in helping, sharing, co-working, and being comfortably. Second, among the independent variables, the literacy activity had the most influential power on the children’s prosocial behavior, and then the age of children had the second influential power. The more home literacy activity was, the more children’s prosocial behavior increased. And 5-year-old children showed more prosocial behavior than 4-year-old children. This research suggested that home literacy environment, especially literacy activity should be strongly supported in order to increase children’s prosocial behavior.
