삼대록계 국문장편소설에 나타난 공주혼의 유형적·시대적 특성과 의미

The Typological and Timely Characteristics and Meanings of Princess Marriage Found in Korean-written Full-length Novels of Samdaerok Series

본고에서는 삼대록계 국문장편소설에 나타나는 공주혼의 유형적 성격과 시대적 변모양상의 의미를 살피고자 하였다. 공주혼은 남주인공에 대한 공주의 태도에 따라 애정추구형과 애정거절형으로 이원화되어 전개되는 양상을 보여주었다. <소씨삼대록>과 <현몽쌍룡기>에 나타난 애정 추구형 공주혼은 여성의 욕망 발현을 금지하는 남성 중심적 서술시각을 보여주고, <유씨삼대록>과 <성현공숙열기>에 나타난 애정거절형 공주혼은 여성의 능력을 인정하는 여성 중심의 서술시각을 보여주었다. 그런데 공주혼은 유형별로 공통된 서사를 공유하면서도, 공주 형상화방식의 측면에서 시대적 변모를 보여주었다. 초기의 작품인 <소씨삼대록>과 <유씨삼대록>은 각각 극단적인 악녀와 숙녀로 공주를 형상화하고, 공주혼을 통해 개인보다 집단을 우선시하는 경직된 유교윤리에 대한 문제의식을 드러내었다. 반면 후기의 작품인 <현몽쌍룡기>와 <성현공 숙열기>는 공주들을 보다 인간적으로 형상화하고, 공주혼을 통해 여성의 개인적 욕망을 용인하는 서술시각을 보여주었다. 이는 소설을 통해 자신들의 욕망을 인정받고 스스로를 위안하고픈 사대부 여성들의 향유의식을 반영이며 여성의식의 강화로 이해할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the typological characteristics of princess marriage and meanings in the aspects of timely transformation found in all the pieces of Korean-written full-length novels of samdaerok series. The princesses in <Sossisamdaerok> and <Hyeonmongssangryonggi> are embodied as wicked women, and the princesses in <Yussisamdaerok> and <Seonghyeongongsukyeolgi> are embodied as ladies. When princesses are embodied as wicked women, women’s pursuit of love and lust is forbidden in men’s perspective in the novels, and when princesses are embodied as ladies, a women&#8211;oriented viewpoint to recognize women’s ability is adopted. Meanwhile, princess marriage is placed differently as it is positioned in the latter pieces in early works and in the former pieces in later works, and this is related to the types of embodying princesses and the consciousness of matters in those works. In early works, the narration proceeds centering around the family’s stability and growth. Therefore, in princess marriage, the excessive ways of embodying characters are shown while the consciousness of matters is revealed seriously. Meanwhile, later works take stabilized families as their background and develop their narrative centering around the characters’ personal pursuit of desire. As not the problem of a group but relationship between individuals is depicted, the aspects of more humane characters are described in a more flexible viewpoint. Such aspects of timely transformation in princess marriage reveal the process that Korean-written full-length novels of samdaerok series reinforce publicness and satisfy the horizons of women readers’ expectations
