Literature Review on Conceptual Categories and Present Condition of Proposals for Green Campus in Korea

The theme of this study is green campus and method was used literature review. This study has its purpose on establishing the conceptual categories and elements, reviewing the regulations and the organizations about Korean green campus and each universities' proposals, and providing the fundamental data for related further research or promotion projects. This study searched the keyword 'Green Campus' with latest 10 years of domestic studies in research database websites such as RISS, AURIC; looked into the related regulations and the data from related organizations; studied the proposals which universities applied for the Low-Carbon Green Campus promotion projects from 2011 to 2014 which were shown by Korea Environment Corporation website. As results, the major concept of green campus was reducing greenhouse gas emission, and the main categories and elements were 'settling green-administration', 'making environment-friendly campus', 'procuring the infrastructures of research and educations for stainability', and 'networking with local area'. Consequently, domestic current state of regulations, organizations, and each universities' proposals has its shortcoming on its fundamental energy-reducing plans for greenhouse gas reduction.
