초등수학영재학생들의 수학학습양식과 유형 분석

An Analysis of Elementary Mathematics for Gifted Students’ Math Learning Styles and Learning Types

본 연구는 초등수학영재 4,5,6학년 학생이 가지는 수학학습양식과 유형을 학년별, 성별에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는지 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 수학영재 355명(4학년-121명, 5학년-104명, 6학년-130명)을 대상으로 수학학습유형검사를 실시한 후, 학년별, 성별로 수학학습양식을 분석하였다. 수학영재학생들의 전반적인 수학학습양식에 대한 분석결과를 살펴보면, 정보인식 유형에서는 시각적 양식을, 정보처리 유형에서는 분석적 양식을, 수학학습에 대한 태도 유형에서는 권위목표 양식을, 수학학습 환경에 대한 태도 유형에서는 내부지향적 양식을 선호하였다. 그리고 학년별 분석결과, 수학학습에 대한 태도 유형에서 4,5학년 수학영재학생은 권위목표 양식을 선호하는 반면, 6학년 수학영재학생은 실용오락 양식을 선호하여 학년별 유의미한 차이를 보였으며 성별에 따른 차이에서는 남학생에 비해 여학생이 시각적 양식을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 선행연구와 비교한 결과, 정보처리 유형에서 수학영재는 분석적 양식을 선호하였고, 일반학생은 전체적 양식을 선호하여 정보처리 방법에 큰 차이가 있음을 알았다.

In this study, we aim to investigate elementary school 4th, 5th and 6th grade Mathematics Gifted Students’ (hereafter referred to as MGS) Math learning styles and learning types. After carrying out a survey of 355 MGS members, we have analyzed each grade’s and gender’s math learning style. Our research showed that MGS prefer the visual learning style to the verbal style, in terms of information recognition. Furthermore, the results showed that MGS prefer the analytical style of information processing. With regards to attitudes towards math learning, MGS generally prefer the authoritative and goal-oriented learning style to the practical and recreational learning style. Also, the study showed that MGS are more interior-oriented than exterior-oriented. Unlike previous studies, this study showed that MGS differ from other students in the way they process information.
