The Image which that the people of one country have toward the other countries and their people clearly has an influence on the decisions of their own government’s political, economic, and social relationships with foreign countries. The factors that affect on formation of national image are mass media, products, one country’s relations with another country, and national traits of the people. The purpose of this study was to determine current levels of awareness of Koreans on Arab and Islam and explore Koreans’ image and attitudes towards Arab and Islam. This study also aimed at Koreans’ evaluation and perception on Korean News coverage on Arab and Islam. For the purpose of the study, two primary research techniques, a qualitative survey and quantitative survey were used. The results showed that Majority of Koreans have negative images of Arab and Islam as dangerous areas where war and terror are continually occurring. However, the results reinforced that Koreans were rather strongly favored to ‘devout religious life style’. The results also revealed that Koreans evaluated news reports about Arab and Islam were not quite fair, reliable and objective. The results indicated that news coverage about Arab and Islam rather focused the issues that were provocative and sensational.
