Orality of Q : Q as Oral Narrative for its History and Theology

The following study will present Q as an oral narrative to illuminate sociopolitical aspect of the kingdom of God wich deeply connected with popular oral culture rather than elite groups in Jewish society. Q has been studied with methodologies that limit Q to being a fragmented collection of sayings that leads to an understanding of Q having disjointed, complicated, inconsistent histories and theologies. However, interpreting Q with its narrative elements that include a thematic storyline, deepening plot and an interactive audience for performance reveals the historical reality of Q in a way that corresponds with its theological vision. These elements enable a conclusion that the kingdom of God depicted in Q actualized the theology of mutual forgiveness and mercy among the people of Q.
