김려의 『우해이어보』 와 『자산어보』 ･｢전어지｣의 비교 연구

A Comparative Study of 『Uhaeieobo』 , 『Jasanobo』 and ｢Jeoneoji｣

본고는 19세기 전반에 연이어 나온 3종 어보인 우해이어보 , 자산어보 , ｢전어지｣를 대상으로 그 친연성 혹은 계승 관계를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이와 관련하여 기왕의 연구에서는 특히 3종 어보의 수록 어종에 대한 비교와 자산어보 와 ｢전어지｣의 계승 관계에 대한 논의가 부족했던 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 점을 감안하여 우선 2장에서는 쥐노래미와 청어에 대한 3종 어보 의 서술을 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 우해이어보 는 자산어보 나 ｢전어지｣에 비해 어종의 신기함에 주목한 흥미위주의 서술로 특히 어렵 현장을 묘사하는 데는 뛰어나지만 어종의 활용 가치에 대한 인식, 문헌 고증이나 이용 후생의 방면에서는 뒤떨어지는 것으로 판단된다. 다음 3장에서는 홍어와 고래에 대한 서술을 중심으로 자산어보 와 ｢전어지｣ 사이의 계승 관계에 대해 살펴보았다. 여기서 나타난 어종의 정체 파악, 표기 방식, 배열 순서, 서술 내용, 인용 서적 등의 차이를 종합해볼 때, 우해이어보 에서 자산어보 로, 혹은 우해이어보 에서 ｢전어지｣로 이어지는 3종 어보 간의 친연성이나 계승 관계를 말할 만한 것은 거의 보이지 않는다. 오히려 자산어보 에서는 쥐노래미와 상어를 ‘鱗類’로 분류하고 가오리와 홍어를 구분하지 못하는 등 ｢전어지｣에 비해 오류가 많이 보인다. 이러한 점은 특히 임원경제지 의 ｢관휴지｣ ‘靑角菜’ 항목에서 자산어보 를 인용하고 있는 사실을 감안해 보면, 상당히 의외의 결과라고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this research is to identify the similarities or relationship between three different atlas of fish, Uhaeieobo 牛海異魚譜, Jasanobo 玆山魚譜 and ｢Jeoneoji｣ 佃漁志, written in the early 19th century. In this regard, prior research especially lacked the study of the comparison among the same kinds of fish and the relationship between Jasanobo and ｢Jeoneoji｣. In this respect, chapter two compares the description of Greenling and Herring by three kinds of atlas. As a result, Uhaeieobo excelled in describing scenes of fishing for the sake of arousing the interest, compared with Jasanobo and ｢Jeoneoji｣. However, it turned out to be behind in the aspect of the valuation of fish and historical research of literature. Next, chapter three discussed the succession between Jasanobo and ｢Jeoneoji｣, focusing on the description of whales and skates. To sum up all the differences mentioned, including the identification of fish species, the transcriptional method, order of arrangement, contents of description, and reference books, there seems to be no meaningful similarities or relationship between three different atlas of fish, Uhaeieobo , Jasanobo and ｢Jeoneoji｣, which are connected from Uhaeieobo to Jasanobo , or from Uhaeieobo to ｢Jeoneoji｣.
