A Study on the Nature Inspiration Design of Eco-friendly Spatial Buildings

This study is to analyze nature inspiration architectures have applied to the design philosophy of spatial architecture that seeks new design concepts in nature. A nature inspiration design is not by replicating natural forms, but by understanding the rules governing original forms. Architecture has inspired from nature in order to get design sources from natural existing elements, originated possibly with the beginning of man-made environments. Human life is surrounded by nature and cannot be separated from natural environment. Nature always provides a source of new inspiration, recently architects are trying to seek a new design inspiration from nature. Nature reveals unlimited inspirations for the creation of organic and geometric shapes. Nowadays some architects have been turning to nature for the development of new design, structures and techniques from buildings to materials. The interactive concepts of nature and technology are commonly known as biomimicry or biomimetics. Architecture, engineering, science, photography, and art have been inspired to a ecology and biology of nature. Nature always furnishes out stimulating ideas for the building design and structural system, it can be found elegant solutions and created new, sustainable and more eco-friendly architecture by the close and careful observation of nature. Nature-friendly design and technologies can be inspired from nature such as tortoise, snail shells, spider webs, bird nest, bird wings, bee hives, walnuts, palm trees, butterfly wings, snake scales, lotus leaf, shark skin, bird beak, sand fish, lizard foot, human skull, etc. It has been commonly noted that nature inspiration architecture have basically aesthetic, ecologic and geometric, this paper will investigate present buildings which embrace nature inspiration techniques, the nature-friendly sustainable design, and the structural systems of large span spatial structures. The usefulness of nature inspiration architecture which replicate a structure of nature in order to create innovative techniques will be analysed by biomimetics for the development of new design and eco-friendly building construction. And then it will be shown bio-eco architectural designs how to develop design concepts, how to use eco-friendly materials as well as how to apply the structural concept of large span spatial building.
