A Study on Factors of Regional Gaps

본 연구의 목적은 수도권과 비수도권, 그리고 영호남간의 지역격차를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 휘해 지역격차를 규명할 수 있는 변수를 선정하고 각 지역별로 차이가 있는지 실증적으로 규명하였다. 분석 결과 시ㆍ군ㆍ구/수도권, 호남권, 영남권에서 각각 기반시설과 지역역량에 차이가 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 지역이 자체역량을 가지기 위해서는 어떠한 변수가 작동하는지도 알 수 있었는데 특히 각 지역의 기반시설이 늘어나고 기업들의 유치가 많아질수록 자립도가 높아짐을 알 수 있었다.

This study aims to test if there exist regional gaps between capital and non-capital region, and between Youngnam and Honam. For this, I select variables that measure regional differentials and examine each variable. Empirical results show that there seem to be regional differentials in infrastructure and local capacities. In addition, I come to know that what variables are important for regions to have their own capacities. Especially, regions become more independent as local infrastructure and film-attraction become more abundant.
