‘논문 작성 과정의 순환성 인식’과 ‘선행연구검토’의 중요성

논문 작성하기는 대학 글쓰기 교육의 목표에 부합하는 가장 높은 수준의 글쓰기이다. 그것은 다른 어떤 글쓰기보다 더 높은 수준의 사고력과 집중력을 요하는 글쓰기이다. 이런 까닭에 논문 작성하기 교육을 제대로 수행하기 위해서는 효율 적인 방법이 필요하다. 논자는 이와 관련하여 학습자가 논문 작성 과정의 순환적 특성을 분명하게 인지하고, 연구 주제와 관련된 선행연구를 꼼꼼하게 검토해서 가설과 논증을 짜는 것의 중요성을 부각시키고자 했다. 학습자에게 논문 작성 과 정의 순환성 인식과 선행연구 검토의 중요성을 주지시킨 뒤에 논문 작성하기를 진행하자, 그렇지 않았을 때와 달라진 점이 나타났다. 먼저 익히 알고 있는 사실이나 논증하기 대단히 어려운 사실이 가설로 제시되는 경우가 확연히 줄었다. 또 독창적인 추론이 등장했다. 이는 논문 작성이 상대적으로 훨씬 더 짜임새 있고, 알차게 진행되었음을 뜻한다. 여기서 논자가 부각시킨 내용은 논자가 담당한 글쓰기 수업의 특수한 여건과 떼어 놓고 생각할 수 없다. 논자가 제시한 것은 효율적인 논문 작성하기 교육과 관련된 다양한 제안 중 하나라는 것이다. 그렇지만 그것은 ‘논문의 핵심’과 ‘대부분의 논문 작성 초보자가 자주 범하는 오류’에 대한 숙고로부터 나온 것 또한 사실이다. 이점에서 본 논문의 핵심내용은 논문 작성하기 교육의 효율적 방안과 관련된 ‘유의미한 일반적 내용’을 담고 있다. 요컨대 본논문은 학술적 글쓰기 교육이 비교적 광범위하게 이뤄지고 있고 논문 작성 학습의 필요성에는 거의 이견이 없음에도 불구하고 논문 작성하기 교육이 적절하게 시행되고 있다고 보기 어려운 상황에서, 논문 작성하기 교육의 효율적인 방안 모색과 관련하여 가장 핵심적인 내용을 환기시키는 의의를 담고 있다.

The training of writing an article might be the highest-quality writing one that coincides with the aim of writing course in Korean universities. And for that it is more difficult than any other writing training. So, we need any method through which learners could efficiently learn the skill of writing an article in writing course. In this context, I would point out that article writers have to perceive to the circularity between steps of writing an article and accordingly to carefully examine the preceding researches related with their themes and to set up the hypotheses based on that examination in order to write an article successfully. Writing an article in this way, they meet with two good results. First of all, they do not set up a hypothesis that is too great to ignore or too difficult to prove. Secondly, they begin to draw some meaningful inferences from their examination. These facts imply that they could set up useful hypotheses and prove them more solidly and rapidly. The method I here suggest is just one of the efficient ways that can make any writing learners write an article easier. It above all comes from the specific backgrounds on which I take charge the writing class. Nevertheless, in terms of the so-called writing skills, it contains not only such a specific aspect, but the general aspect related with the intrinsic elements of writing an article I would like to focus on.
