미술치료 중심 아동미술교육의 이론적 고찰

Theoretical Research on Children Art Education Based on Art Therapy

현대 아동미술교육은 창의적 인지계발과 건강한 정서함양, 자기 표현력과 사회성발달을 도와 전인적 인간성형성을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이는 아동기에 있어 너무나 중요한 교육이자 심리치료이다. 본 연구는 이러한 아동미술교육의 목적과 목표를 보다 훌륭히 성취하기 위해서는, 미술치료 중심 아동미술교육이 되어야 하는 당위성의 규명을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 5～10세의 아동을 대상으로 한 아동미술교육의 방법론에 관한 연구로서 이를 위해 현대 아동미술교육의 중요성과 아동미술치료와의 관계성을 설명하고 아동미술교육의 목적을 제대로 성취하기 위해서는 미술치료 중심 아동미술교육이 되어야 하는 이유와 이를 실천하는데 필요한 제반 이론을 연구하여 정립하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 사람의 인생에서 가장 중요한 시기인 아동기에 치료로써의 아동미술이 포함된 아동미술교육의 중요성과 목적의 고귀함이 더 이상 이론적 존재로만 남아있지 않고 교육현장에서 보다 구체성을 가지며 적극적으로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

The purpose of modern art education for children is to make them be whole people by helping their development of creative cognition, healthy emotion, self-expression, and social skills. All of the aforementioned tasks are highly important in child development. In this vein, this study aimed at arguing the reasons why child art therapy should be adapted to art education for children. This study first explained the importance of modern art education for children and the relationship between modern art education for children and child art therapy. Then, the reasons for such application and the strategies in the process of doing so were discussed. The implications of this study that provide the theoretical base of applying child art therapy to art education for children are discussed.
