아동미술교육 현황 연구

Study on the Current Art Education for Children

The study surveyed of 186 art institutes, kindergartens, and nursery schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi province in an aim for the insight into the present condition of art education for children in educational institutes. The survey found there still existed a gap between the Ideal and the Real of childrenoriented and creativity-oriented art educations. Specifically the problem came externally from the educational environment, including the absence of art room, the space for free activities, and far excessive number of pupils for a teacher alone, and internally from the lack of studies on systematic art education program and of teachers specialty. Thus the steppingstone for the development of art education for children should be prepared by extensively studying the art educational program for children and the media of art education, improving the educational environment, and diversifying the training program for art teachers.
