초등학교 아동의 색채 선호도 연구

A Study of Color Preference of Elementary School Students

This paper surveyed the color preference of 1400 elementary school students in Seoul. Contents : The analyzed contents regard general color preference, color preference for both boys and girls, color preference for each grade, and the color preference of each boy and girl at each grade level of elementary school. (1) The favorite color of elementary school children is as follows : blue(25.8%), Sky blue(14.6%), yellow(11.5%), pink(9.8%), green(6.9%), white(6.1%), red(4.8%), gold and silver (3.4%), yellow green(3.1%), violet(3.1%), black(3%), dark green(2.2%), etc(2.2%), orange(1.9%), Sea blue(0.6%) (2) Generally boys like cool colors like blue or green, but girls like warm colors such as yellow or pink. The colors rank as follows for boys and girls : Boys : blue(36%), green(10.0%), sky blue(9.3%), red(6.8%), yellow(5.8%), gold and silver(5.5%), black(5.2%), dark green(3.9%), white(3.9%), yellow green(3.8%), violet(3.8%), etc(1.5%), orange(1.4%), pink(1.1%), Sea blue(1.0%), purple(0.1%) Girls : sky blue(20.4%), pink(19.0%), yellow(17.6%), blue(14.7%), white(5.8%), green (3.8%), etc(2.9%), red(2.8%), yellow green(2.5%), orange(1.4%), violet(2.4%) (3) Students of higher grade levels prefer blue, sky blue, white, etc(kings of cold color), and they like red, yellow, pink, gold and silver(kings of warm color)less, grades 「As girls reach the higher grade levels, it appears that the number of girls who love yellow and pink become less」 Where as, as boys reach the higher grade levels, they continue to prefer green, blue and sky blue, and the number of boys liking such colors increases.
