In the modern society, a lot of information is delivered visually. As a result, colors deeply affect our lives and psyche. The colors that are closely related to our lives influence our emotions and feelings significantly and they play the role of language for communication. The children in modern days have been accustomed to colors since their early childhood. Therefore, they are very interested in colors and perceive colors in a variety of ways. A child s picture reflects his or her inner world and the environment surrounding him or her. The shapes and colors expressed in a child s picture are the most honest self expression and it is possible to estimate the development of child s individuality and sociality through the pictures. However, definite conclusions have not been drawn yet. The results of this study showed that it is possible to assess the psychology, emotion, and personality of a child from the child s interest in colors. This study also found that the older the child, the more sensitive is the child s reaction to colors, and the children preferred the colors that are closely related to their environment. By area, the children in Changwon drew pictures with marked individuality using green color as they are influenced by natural and cultural environment of parks and roadside trees. The children in Tongyeong used natural color of the sea. And the children in Ulsan used a variety of colors. They used achromatic light gray, which reminds one of gloomy city, and their drawings were simple and plain. This indicates that in the pictures drawn outside, the environment in which the child is place is reflected. Therefore, the art teachers need to help children to free their emotions, stay away from the stereotypical themes and color expressions, and have confidence in the use of colors so that they could use colors creatively and variously. Nowadays, children live in an environment surrounded by concrete. The purpose of art education is to help them appreciate nature, become more psychologically stable, and express creatively. The color psychoanalysis of children needs to be studied further and the author hopes that this study helps children develop emotional stability.
