Modern arts education emphasizes forming the character with aesthetical sensitivity by letting the student express his own feeling and thought formatively and expand the opportunity of internal expression. It can be related to the changing human mind including satisfying the soul through artistic activity, developing the ability to control heart, mind and will, recognizing the mental world of human and accompanying physical perception and individual emotion(Jeong-Heui Kim, 2002). Therefore it should be expanded to the expression that formulates the feeling of line, shape and color that are innate in the external of an object and understands and interprets it rather than the artistic activity that represents the external of an object. In that sense, Steiner s thought of education may suggest a lot to modern little child s formative activity. In Steiner s arts education, ‘Formen’ is central in harmonious development through the internal expression of human being. Formen is a sensuous and emotional exercise in the form of experiencing the element of form, sense of rhythm and sense of movement through various association and transformation of straight line and curved line. Formen does not mean mere drawing of a moving line, but it is an activity of expression that expands the recognition of himself and world in the relationship between a line and the form the line formulates. This study tries to understand the little child s formative activity that the little child arts education suggests centering around Steiner s thought of education.
