Human being aims at searching the qualitative value that he believes valuable from womb to tomb and the purpose of education is not different. However, It is not too much to say that current education is still bound to a regulative curriculum rather than to a practical one that each learner searches one s own value of life. In addition, no one can deny that current education is leaned too much on intellectual and memory-oriented education, result-centered education and a few of subjects. This problem from the reality of education might be improved more when the learner becomes the subject in practice. In other words, learning should be developed from learner s understanding, though the thought or understanding of the learner is not fit for the desirable concept and it is inconsistent and imperfect thought(In-Ae Gang et all. 1998). Considering the purpose of education is to search a qualitative life of learner, the purpose of arts education is not different. Through arts, human being can express himself by raising the character giving a meaning to a work that is based on the internal action he feels and enriches the quality of life. Arts becomes an important means as a form to express everything we worry and experience in our life directly and indirectly. The content of education that such purpose of arts education searches is to cultivate the little children to be the people who can contribute to society by exerting artistic sensation with the subjective thought and creative idea in rapidly changing high-level environment of education through the high-quality educational benefits for little children. Therefore this study tries to investigate the significance that the purpose of education has, its correspondence to the purpose of formative activity and the relationship between arts education and formative activity.
