3-dimensional modeling is an activity that composes a space using 3-dimensional materials, opens an opportunity to little children to be able to search new space, and helps them escape a visual fixed idea. The 3-dimensional modeling activity to be able to search and use various materials is a play rather than learning to little children and the little children who are poor in expressing their feeling and thought can express their feeling unconsciously through such play. Modeling activity is useful for developing the emotion of little children as well as their mental health. As such, 3-dimensional modeling activity is very important for little children. Clay may be the most proper material for such 3-dimensional modeling(Gyu-Seon Lee Dong-Yeong Kim Seong-Su Jeon, 1994). Clay has the attribute of plasticity and viscosity. Therefore little children can make any form in their intention and it is not a fixed form, but ever possible to revise or complement. Through the activity of clay, little children can express their thought or feeling freely without restriction and enjoy it as a way of play, not learning. Besides, the educational value that 3-dimensional clay modeling has to little children is great and the significance is still standout today. This study considered little children s development of 3-dimensional expression, investigated the effect of clay modeling on little children, pointed out problems of current kindergarten 7th curriculum(3-dimensional modeling activity-clay activity) and groped for a plan of improvement. Several problems were found in curriculum and following is the improvement. An enough activity to search the characteristics of clay is necessary and the theme that can help little children to think autonomously is good for the theme of activity and it should not be restrictive. The clay is possible to express 3-dimension and the theme should be one that keeps not only expression, but 3-dimension in mind. Finally, material as well as environment should be prepared so that little children can act. The material proper for little children to work, the enough space for free activity and the place to wash should be prepared. This practical problem should first be improved and various plans that can be applied to educational field for little children are expected to be released. This study might be helpful in the situation that the study on little children s 3-dimensional clay modeling is lacking.
