외국인지분율이 국내 코스닥기업의 투자결정에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Foreign Investor on Domestic KOSDAQ Firm s Investment Decision

한국 주식시장이 외국인투자자에게 개방된 이후, 그들은 한국경제에 중요한 역할을 하였으며, 외국인투자자의 역할에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 외국인투자자가 국내의 코스닥기업의 투자결정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 실증결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외국인투자자의 지분율은 연구개발투자에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않으나 설비투자에는 유의한 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 수익성과 성장기회가 높은 기업의 경우 외국인 투자자의 지분율은 코스닥기업의 설비투자결정에 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 외국인투자자의 투자증대가 국내 코스닥기업의 설비투자에 긍정적인 역할을 하고 있음을 의미한다

Since Korean Stock Market has been open to foreign investor, they have played important role in Korean economy, and there have been a lively discussion on the role of foreign investors. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether foreign investor impact on the investment decision of domestic KOSDAQ firms. The results of this study are as the following. First, the shares of foreign investor have a positive(＋) effect on the decision of plant investment with significancy, but have insignificantly effect on the R&D investment. Second, in the case of KOSDAQ firms which have high profitability and the opportunity of their growth, the shares of foreign investor have a positive(＋) effect on the decision of plant investment. This results mean that the increase of foreigner s investment causes the increase of plant investment of domestic KOSDAQ firms.
