성격특성과 부부관계 및 자녀와의 관계가 유아기 어머니의 행복감에 미치는 영향

Effects of Mother s Personality, Marital Relationship, and Relationship with Young Children on Happiness

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 성격특성과 부부관계 및 자녀와의 관계가 행복감에 미치는 영향이 어떠한지를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 대상은 C시에 소재한 5개의 유치원과 어린이집에 다니는 만 3, 4, 5세 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 349명이었고, 자료는 질문지법으로 수집하여 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18.0 Program을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 첫째, 어머니의 성격특성 중 신경증, 친화성, 개방성은 모두 부부관계에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 어머니의 성격특성 중 친화성과 개방성은 자녀와의 관계에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 신경증은 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 어머니의 부부관계는 자녀와의 관계에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 어머니의 부부관계와 자녀와의 관계는 삶의 만족도, 긍정 정서, 부정 정서에 모두 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 성격특성을 매개하여 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 유아기 어머니의 행복감을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하여 부모교육 프로그램 및 상담 현장에 실질적으로 필요한 자료를 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mother s personality, marital relationship, and relationship with young children on happiness such as life satisfaction, positive emotion and negative emotion of life. Subjects of this study were 349 mothers of 3, 4, and 5 years old children attending 5 different nursery schools located in Cheongju city. Date were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program and the test of model was done with analysis of correlation matrix using AMOS 18.0. The results of this study were as follows: First, mother s neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness of personality had a direct effect on the marital relationship. Second, mother’s openness and agreeableness of personality had a direct effect on the relationship with their children whereas mother’s neuroticism did not. Third, mother’s marital relationship had a direct effect on the relationship with their children. Fourth, mother’s relationship with their husband and children not only had a direct effect on happiness such as life satisfaction, positive emotion, and negative emotion of life, but also had indirect effects on happiness mediated by mother’s personality. Finally, this study has a significant implication for the necessary resources to substantially parent education and counseling program.
