A Study on Activating the Port Hinterland Logistics Park in Korea

우리나라가 물류선진국으로서 글로벌 물류시장을 통하여 국부를 창출할 수 있는 방법 중의 하나는 항만배후단지를 집중적으로 개발하고 여기에 다국적 물류기업이나 제조업체를 유치하는 것이다. 항만배후단지에 다국적 제조업이나 물류기업을 유치하여 물동량과 부가가치를 창출시키는 정책은 국내경제를 활성화시키는 동시에 잠재적 경제성장률을 높일 수 있는 매우 유용한 정책이라고 할 수 있다. 이는 중국을 비롯한 많은 나라들이 성공적으로 추진하고 있는 실정이다. 우리나라에서도 항만배후단지에 다국적 기업을 성공적으로 유치하기 위해서는 항만배후물류단지 정책을 획기적으로 변화시켜야 한다. 항만배후물류단지의 자유무역지역화, 항만배후물류단지 인센티브제도의 강화, 배후물류단지를 활용한 비즈니스 모델의 개발 등 획기적인 조치가 필요하다.

Purpose : One of the best way of creating the national wealth epochally through the global logistics market as a advanced logistics country is to develop the port hinterland logistics park intensively and to induce the multinational logistics company or manufacturing company. Research design, data, methodology : To achieve the purpose, this research on various prior researches including those the author has written was done and analyzed to set the new conceptual definitions and proposes the policy to proceed by the national entity. Results : The policy to create cargoes and added value in the port hinterland by inducing the foreign company is a very useful policy for boosting the domestic economy and potential economic growth in Korea. This is a very successful policy experienced in many countries such as China. Conclusions : In order to successfully induce multinational company in port logistics park, we have to change the policy and institution of the port hinterland development such as designating the port logistics as a free trade zone, strengthening the incentive, developing the business model.
