해외 한국음악학 발전을 위한 국악연구실의 역할

The Role of the Gugak Research Office to Promote Oversea s Korean Musicology

해외 한국음악학 발전을 위한 국악연구실의 역할을 고찰하기위하여 국악연구실 사업 중에서 해외 한국음악학 발전에 기여한 것으로 판단되는 <국제학술회의 개회>와 <영문책자 발간> 등 국내사업, <해외 현지 한국음악학 자료조사>와 <해외 한국음악 음원자료 발굴> 등 국외사업을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 연구결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 국제학술회의는 중·장기계획을 수립 후 단계적으로 진행되어야하며, 국내에서 개최하는 것뿐만 아니라 국외에서 개최하여 국제학술회의 개최의 파급성과 참여도를 극대화 할 필요성 있다. 둘째, 영문책자 발간은 더욱 확대하여 영문판 이외에 불어·독어·스페인어·중어·일어 등으로 사용언어권이 넓은 언어를 중심으로 다양하게 제작해야할 것이다. 셋째, 해외 현지 한국음악학 자료조사는 연구주제의 다양화와 연구지역의 다변화를 모색해야한다. 또한 중장기계획 바탕위에 진행되어야한다. 넷째, 해외 한국음악 음원자료 발굴은 민간이나 개인연구자가 진행하기에는 어려움이 수반되므로 한국음악의 원형성과 정체성을 확립하는 차원에서 국립기관에서 지속적으로 추진해야할 것이다. 본 고(稿)에서 논의한 내용들을 과거를 돌아보고 현실을 직시하여 미래로 나아가고자하는 시각에서 바라본다면, 한국음악학 발전에 조금이나마 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

In order to study the role of the Gugak Research Office to promote oversea s Korean Musicology, I have examined various projects, particularly the domestic projects such as <International Conferences> that are considered to have contributed to the development of oversea s Korean Musicology, and <English Reference Publishing Project> and the international projects such as <Researches on Oversea s References of Korean Musicology>, and <Excavation Project of Oversea s Sound Sources of Korean Music > conducted by the office. As a result, I have concluded as the following. First, it is necessary that the international conferences be carried out in stages under the midterm/long term plans and conducted not only in Korea but also in oversea s countries to maximize their riffle effects and participation of the relevant scholars. Second, it is necessary that the references be published in more languages which are widely used, such as French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese as well as English. Third, the researches on oversea s Korean Musicology need to be diversified in the subjects and the target regions, based on the midterm and long term plans. Fourth, it is necessary that the national organizations continue to promote the excavations of oversea s sound sources of Korean music in terms of establishing the identity and the originality of Korean music, as such project is difficult for individuals or private organizations to carry out. Viewed from a wish to advance to the future by facing the reality after reflecting the past, this study is expected to contribute to the advancement of Korean music studies.
