대학생 자원봉사동아리 소속 사회복지전공생의 멘토링 경험에 대한 질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on the Mentoring Experiences of Students Volunteers in University: Focused on Social Work Students

본 연구의 목적은 대학생 자원봉사동아리에 소속된 사회복지전공생의 멘토링 경험을 탐색 함에 있다. 이를 위하여 H대학교 사회복지학과 자원봉사동아리에 소속되어 아동 대상 멘토링에 참여한 대학생을 대상으로 5회의 초점집단면접 및 활동일지 분석 등을 통하여 자료를 수집 하고, 질적 연구 접근으로 분석한다. 분석 결과, 4개의 주제, 9개의 하위주제로 구성된다. 4개의 주제는 ‘멘토링을 모르는 멘토’, ‘부여된 멘토 역할의 경험’, ‘오랜된 문제, 멘토링에서의 제한점 인식과 변화 모색을 위한 시도’, ‘새로운 시도에 따른 멘토의 성장과 과제’ 등이다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생 자원봉사 동아리 소속 사회복지전공생의 멘토링 활동을 지원 하기 위한 방안을 제시한다.

This study explores the mentoring experiences of social work students who were affiliated with a university volunteer club, specifically of undergraduate students affiliated with the volunteer club of the Department of Social Work of H University. Data were collected by conducting five focus group interviews and analyzing the journals of students’ voluntary activities based on the qualitative case study. Four themes and nine sub-themes were drawn from the results. The four themes are as follows: “the mentor who doesn t know what mentoring is”; “mentoring experiences as given”; “the long-term problem of acknowledging limitations in mentoring and attempting change”; and “growth to mentor status through new efforts and following through on the task.” Based on the results of the study, suggestions are offered on how to support the mentoring activities of volunteer clubs in undergraduate colleges.
