<이대봉전>의 반청의식 고찰

A Study on The Anti-Qing Dynasty Consciousness in <LeeDaeBong-Jeon>

이 논문은<이대봉전>에 드러난 반청(反淸)의식을 분석한 연구다. 17세기병자호란은전쟁의 체험의 서사로부터 재화의 과정을 통해 우리 서사 문학속에 정착되었다. 본고는 이러한 흐름 속에서 한글 고소설이 점하는 위치를 파악하고자 하는 일종의 시론의 성격을 지니고 있다. 본고는<이대봉전>에 드러난 반청의식을 크게 시간과 공간의 배경 측면과 인물 차원에서 분석했다. 이를 통해 <이대봉전>이 자리한 서사적 배경이 쓰인 것과는 달리 명나라 아닌 한나라임을 알수 있었다. 공간 역시 흉노의 침공로가 제시되어 있으며, 특히 한나라와 흉노 관계에서 중요하게 다뤄지던 옥문관의 존재가 부각되어 있다. 인물적 차원에서는 이릉, 묵특의 존재가 드러난다. 이들은 주인공에 대항하기도 하며, 서술자의 목소리를 전하기도 하는데, 모두 한나라 대 흉노와의 갈등과 연관이 있는 인물들이다. 이러한 점들로 봤을 때 <이대봉전>은 한나라 대의 역사적 사실들을 서사 속에서 재현하고자 했음을 알 수 있었다. 이런 한나라 대의 역사적 사실들은 남자 주인공인 이대봉의 서사에 집중되어 있으며, 한 무제 대의 역사적 사실들을 다수 내포하고 있다. 이대봉의 서사는 장애황의 서사와 달리 역사적인 구체성을 띠고 있다. 이는 한나라 초기 흉노에 대한 굴욕적인 패배를 한 무제대에 와서 설욕한 사실과 연관이 깊은 것으로 보인다. 이러한 흔적은 <이대봉전> 내부의 서사에서도 찾아 볼 수 있으며, 당대 북벌론의 추진 세력이었던 송시열의 상소에서도 찾아볼 수 있다. 반청 의식은 <이대봉전> 속에 녹아들어 조선과 청나라의 형세주의적 화친 관계를 한나라와 흉노와의 관계와 유연적인 것으로 두고, 이를 서사 속에서 해소하고자하는 욕구로 나타났다. 이런 점에서<이대봉전>은 실질적으로 이뤄지지 못한 북벌과 청나라에 대한 대외인식으로서 반청의식이 명분론적으로 서사화된 결과라고 할 수 있다.

This paper is an analysis on The Anti-Qing Dynasty Consciousness revealed in <LeeDaeBong-Jeon>. The Experience of Qing Dynasty s Invasion in 17th century was settled in our narrative literature through the process of fictionizing. This paper is a kind of trial seeking the location of Korean Hangeul novels in this flow. This paper analyzed The Anti-Qing Dynasty Consciousness revealed in <LeeDaeBong-Jeon> in the aspect of the background and in the character. Through this, We could know that the real background of this novel is in Han-Dynasty, not Ming-Dynasty which is written in novel. The space has also been showed as an invasion route of the Xiongnu, and the Okmungan has been emphas ized in the narrative between the Han and the Xiongnu. Especially, I could find out that <LeeDaeBong-Jeon> is the representation of the historical facts of Han-Dynasty in the LeeDaeBong s narrative. The historic al facts of early Han Dynasty are concentrated in the narrative of Lee Daebong, the male hero. And It contain many motifs of Han-wudi’s period. LeeDaebong s narrative has historical specificity, unlike the narrative of the JangAeWhang’s. It seems to be related to the fact that the humiliating defeat of the early Han-Dynasty was revenged in the period of Han-wudi s regime. These can be found in the battle narrative inside <LeeDaeBong-Jeon> and can also be found in the appeal of SongSiYeol, who was in the society driving Northern Expedition. <LeeDaebong-Jeon> expressed the desire to dissolve The Anti-Qing Dynasty Consciousness in the narrative by making the relationship between Chosun and Qing Dynasty s Violent relationship with Han and the Xiongnu s. For These features, <LeeDaebong-Jeon> can be said to be a narrative resulted by the Justificative Chinese-Centrism and The Anti-Qing Dynasty Consciousness.
