Since the FTA was concluded, product import increases were confined to wheat, soybeans, oranges, cherries, almonds and walnuts. Although the weight of imports from the U.S.A. is heavy, competitive products from other countries (pork, chicken and dairy products), and the product of a small decrease in tariff rate (beef) have had little difference or rather a decrease in the quantity of imported goods from the U.S.A. Therefore, at this point, where three years have passed since the FTA was concluded, this study aims at examining the effects of place of origin, product preferences and purchasing intent in the distribution of American imported agri-livestock goods to be prepared against the shock from the market opening and to enhance competitiveness in national agri-livestock goods. As a result, it was discovered that product images, familiarity, the effects of place of origin, product preferences, and purchasing intent had effects on the selection of imported agri-livestock products. To deal with the distribution of agri-livestock products imported from other countries as well as the U.S.A., diverse policies for advanced production facilities, high-quality brand nurturing, improved distribution systems, and technological development should be developed.
