To provide safe food for consumers, Korea had put much effort by legislating and establishing a safety management system in accordance with the situation in Korea, and in 2008, the ‘Framework Act on Food Safety’ had been enacted. The Framework Act on Food Safety had enacted in purpose of allowing the public to have healthy and safe dietary life by clarifying the right/duty of the public, and responsibilities of national and regional government concerning the food safety, and regulating the basic items on establishment/adjustment of food safety policy, however, at this point, it is necessary to review whether any supplementation is required for consumers who are the target of direct effect on food safety. Therefore, the study reviewed what kind of problems does the Framework Act on Food Safety has in the aspect of basic principles and consumers, then dragged the improvement measures. Such includes establishment of basic ideology and principles in the aspect of the advanced prevention, and prompt delivery of information from the subsequent remedial aspect. Moreover, it is necessary to regulate the collection of domestic and overseas information, arrangement and use of collected information, appropriate use of marking systems, and education and study on secureness of food safety from the Framework Act on Food Safety, however, this is expected to have a follow-up study.
