소아 심폐소생술에 대한 부모의 지식, 태도 및 수행능력 조사

A study on the Knowledge, Attitude and Competence of Parents regarding Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

본 연구는 소아를 둔 부모의 소아 심폐소생술에 대한 지식, 태도 및 수행능력에 대해 알아보고, 수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 조사하기 위해 진행되었다. 이를 위해 경기도 소재 일개병원 내 소아과 외래를 방문한 189명의 부모를 대상으로 2016년 7월부터 8월까지 설문지를 이용한 자가보고법으로 수집하였다. 연구결과 소아 심폐소생술에 대한 지식은 평균 52.66(0-100)점, 태도는 평균 9.34(5-20)점, 수행능력은 평균 22.45(9-45)점이었다. 부모의 소아 심폐소생술 수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나이, 심폐소생술 교육경험, 소아 심폐소생술에 대한 지식 및 태도가 있었다. 소아의 응급상황 및 심정지 발생시 이를 효과적으로 대처하기 위한 부모의 소아 심폐소생술에 대한 지식, 태도 및 수행능력이 통계적으로 낮은 결과를 보였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 심폐소생술 수행능력을 높이기 위한 소아 심폐소생술에 대한 지식교육의 필요성을 강조하고자 하며, 더불어 긍정적인 태도 및 수행능력을 촉진할 수 있는 맞춤식 프로그램 개발을 제안한다.

The present study was designed to examine the knowledge, attitude, and competence of parents regarding child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and investigate factors that could affect such competence. A self-reported survey was conducted on 189 parents, who made an outpatient visit to a pediatric clinic at a hospital located in G Province, from July to August 2016. The results showed that on an average the parents recorded 52.66 points (range, 0-100 points) on knowledge, 9.34 points (range, 5-20 points) on attitude, and 22.45 points (range, 9-45 points) on competence. The study also identified some factors that could influence the parents’ competence in performing CPR on a child, including the age, experience of CPR training, knowledge on child CPR, and attitude towards it. As this study demonstrated that parents do not have sufficient knowledge, attitude, and competence regarding child CPR to deal with emergencies or cardiac arrests in their children. I suggest that an educational program be developed that could provide strategically customized CPR intervention to parents.
