초등 수준의 대안적 노작교육에 대한 이해

Understanding of Alternative Work-Oriented Education at the Primary Level

이 연구는 ‘노작’이라는 현상에 대해 실과교육과 관련하여 현재까지 이루어진 연구 결과를 검토하고 초등 수준의 교육, 곧 초등교육의 특징에 비추어 대안적 교육 방안으로서의 노작교육의 의미를 드러내기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노작의 개념을 목적, 과정 및 활동양상, 맥락으로 나누어 정의하였다. 노작의 목적은 노작을 행하는 개인의 목적과 동일하며, 과정 및 활동 양상에서 자발성, 창조적 변용, 통합이 강조되고, 맥락상 사회에서의 노작과 구별되는 학교교육을 강조한다. 또한 노작은 교육목적의 방사가치로서 중간 가치, 인간의 존재됨을 드러내는 가치를 내포하고 있다. 둘째, 초등교육은 기초교육으로서의 역할을 수행하는데 기초란 초급의 수준을 뜻하기도 하지만 모든 학습의 기본을 의미하는 것으로 이해할 수 있었다. 따라서 초등교육은 학습자에게 주체적 학습 역량과 열망을 품게하는 기초교육으로서의 목적을 가지며 학습자로 하여금 일상의 세계로부터 학문의 세계로 나아가도록 돕는 역할을 수행한다. 셋째, 초등수준의 대안적 노작교육의 방안으로 실세계 문제 상황 안에 노작이 배태되도록 하는 전인교육의 원리 실현으로서의 노작교육과 노작을 통해 생활양식을 공부하는 방식 즉 지식교육을 노작으로 통합하는 접근 방식을 제안하였다.

This study was conducted to examine the results of previous studies about work-oriented education on practical arts education and to explore the meaning of work-oriented education as an alternative method for elementary education. The results of the study were as follows. First, work-oriented education was defined as the purpose, process and activity aspect and context. The purpose of the work was the same as the purpose of the worker(learner). The process and activity aspect of the work-oriented education has emphasized spontaneity, creative transformation, and integration. The context of work-oriented education was focused on school education, which distinguished it from work in society. In addition, the work-oriented education had a radiative value for educational purposes and a value that was deeply related to human existence. Second, as a result of analysis of previous research, it can be understood that elementary education plays a role as basic education, which means basic level but it means basic of all learning. Therefore, elementary education had a purpose as a basic education for the learner to have subjective learning ability and aspiration and was playing a role in helping learners move from the everyday world to the academic world. Third, there are two alternatives: one is the work-oriented education for the realization of the principle of the whole education, and the other is the integration of the knowledge education into the work-oriented activity.
