Gender Hybrid Monster and Alien Feminism

본고에서는 ‘임신과 출산’ 그리고 ‘아이 버리기’ 등과 같은 도시전설에 기초해서 영화 <에어리언>의 설화적 화형을 페미니즘의 관점에서 재조명하는 것을 연구목적으로 삼았다. 이 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서 ‘임신과 출산’ 그리고 ‘아이 버리기’의 설화적 화형의 구체적인 특징이 무엇인지를 살펴보고, 이 화형에 기초해서 영화 <에어리언>의 설화적 화형을 엄밀하게 검토하는 작업을 하였다.

According to Harold Schechter, urban legends consist of two factors: the common imagination and archetype has all the proper time anxiety. What interests us is not the archetype remains unchanged through these films, but the grotesque transformation of the status of the heroine. Ripley, heroine of the saga, presented, at first, the feminist dream: Astronaut expert, independent, courageous, and only survivor of the bloody battle with Alien . But at 13, she must die completely bare: no family, no friends, no weapons, no future, no glory, and pregnant with Alien . Where does this fall? We seek the explanation in the misogynist tendency among American men face feminism threatened.
