노인요양시설 종사자들이 인식하는 시설여가프로그램의 특성과 제약요인에 관한 연구

A Study on Characteristics and Constraints of Leisure Programs in Nursing Homes by Perceptions of Nursing Home Staff

본 연구는 노인장기요양보험제도 이후 변화하는 노인요양시설의 환경에서 현재 제공되는 여가프로그램의 종류와 특성, 여가프로그램의 제약요인을 검토한 것이다. 본 연구를 위해 심층면접을 바탕으로 한 질적 연구가 실행되었다. 부산의 노인요양시설 2곳이 연구현장으로 선택되었고, 각 요양시설에서 근무하는 시설 종사자 7명이 연구 참여자로 선정되었다. 연구결과, 시설노인의 만족도가 높은 프로그램은 3개의 특성으로 범주화되었고, 만족도가 낮은 프로그램은 2개의 특성으로 범주화되었다. 그리고 각각의 프로그램에 대한 시설노인의 반응과 이유도 함께 분석이 되었고, 프로그램 실행의 제약 요인은 시설노인의 개인적 요인과 시설의 구조적 요인으로 범주화 되어졌다. 본 연구는 노인요양시설 노인의 심리사회적 안녕과 삶의 질을 향상시키는 방안으로써 여가프로그램의 개발과 실천을 위한 함의를 제공한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine characteristics and constraints of leisure programs for elderly residents in nursing home settings. This study was conducted by qualitative approach. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect data. 7 nursing home staff members working at two nursing homes participated in in-depth interviews. Collected data were analyzed as follows: Leisure programs that showed elderly residents positive response were identified as 3 features; family members’ engaging in leisure program and cooperation by children, adolescents, or volunteers; satisfying elderly residents physical needs; satisfying elderly residents emotional needs. Leisure programs that showed elderly residents’ negative response were identified as 2 features: simple recreation or art activities provided by nursing home staff; feminine activities such as cooking. Constraints in providing leisure program were elderly residents individual factors and structural factors. This study provides practical and policy implications to improve elderly residents’ psychosocial well-being.
